Support young adults navigating life's challenges as a Resource Center Volunteer!

Are you passionate about supporting young adults in our community, especially those navigating life on their own? Whether they're facing housing instability, aging out of foster care, or simply seeking a safe and welcoming place to belong, the Oasis Resource Center on Lyons Avenue in Newhall is here for them-and you can be too.

You can make a difference by becoming an Oasis Center Front Desk Support Volunteer and/or Engagement Volunteer! At our Oasis Resource Center, we serve young adults ages 18 to 26 as they navigate the challenges of transitioning to adulthood. Our center is a safe and welcoming space designed to support young adults aging out of foster care, those at risk of or experiencing homelessness, and others seeking community, resources, and a path to stability.

We are open Tuesday through Friday from 11 AM to 5:30 PM and on some Saturdays from 11 AM to 2 PM. During the week, we have morning and afternoon volunteer shifts available, but these are flexible and can be based on your availability.

As a Center Support & Engagement Volunteer, you can expect to help welcome visitors and give tours, answer the phone, help take inventory of our free store, clean, water plants, and write thank you notes or encouraging postcards. Occasionally, you will be helping set-up and clean-up for our special events and assisting with special projects. Most importantly, you will be able to engage with the young adults while they are visiting!

You’ll apply (https://form.jotform.com/243367379062160), schedule a brief orientation and training, and then be able to volunteer with us whenever you are available. Though there is no expected commitment, we are hoping to find volunteers who can commit to one shift (at least 2 hours) a week or every other week.
