With the days getting longer and warmer, kitten season is just around the corner — and we are officially recruiting volunteers to join our Ringworm Task Force. This specialized foster team is truly lifesaving. Every spring and summer, shelters are overwhelmed with vulnerable kittens, many of whom are euthanized simply due to a lack of space and resources to treat this minor, pesky fungus. Together, we can change that.
We want to take a moment to debunk a common fear:
Ringworm is NOT a worm; it is a very treatable fungal infection, similar to athlete’s foot. With a few extra cleaning steps and simple precautions, it can be safely managed in a home environment. Kittens with ringworm are otherwise healthy, playful babies — and without foster homes willing to help, they often don’t get a chance to live. By stepping up, you are quite literally saving lives that would otherwise be lost in a shelter setting.
What It Takes to Be a Successful Ringworm Foster
Being a ringworm foster is incredibly impactful, and we make sure you are fully supported. Successful ringworm fosters are willing to:

We provide everything you need:
All we ask is a few weeks of your time — and a big heart.
If you have ever thought about helping in a more impactful way, this is that moment. If you’re willing to join one of our task forces or would like more information, please reply to this email or reach out to us. We would love to hear from you.
Kitten season is coming — and with your help, countless tiny lives can be saved.
With gratitude and hope,
