    About Opal's Heart, Inc.

    Opal's Heart, Inc. is a volunteer-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to providing dignity to individuals experiencing homelessness through Care Bags, Care Meals, and Care Baskets. We're looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Grants Specialist to help secure funding that allows us to continue expanding our impact.

    Position Summary

    The Grants Specialist will manage the grant process from research through submission and reporting. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys researching funding opportunities, writing compelling proposals, staying organized, and making a meaningful difference through their work.

    Responsibilities

    • Research and identify grant opportunities that align with our mission.
    • Write, edit, and submit grant proposals and letters of inquiry.
    • Maintain a grants calendar and track deadlines.
    • Prepare required supporting documents and grant reports.
    • Maintain accurate grant records and documentation.
    • Collaborate with the President to gather program information, budgets, and organizational data.
    • Build and maintain positive relationships with funders.

    Qualifications

    • Experience in grant writing, grants administration, nonprofit development, or a related field.
    • Strong writing, research, and organizational skills.
    • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
    • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace.
    • Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred but not required.
