On April 21, 2026, Virginians will decide whether voters will have new districts for the 2026 mid-term elections. Redistricting will enable us to uphold the system of checks and balances that is supposed to exist within our federal government. Volunteers will help inform voters about the election and encourage them to vote yes for redistricting. It is imperative that Asian Virginians turn out in full force to vote yes and protect our communities’ rights and freedoms!
To reach voters, volunteers can participate in doorknocking and/or phone and text banking at times that work best for their schedules. Opportunities are available throughout the week, including weekday and weekend shifts, with options in the late morning, afternoon, and evening. Volunteers are encouraged to sign up for shifts that fit their availability using the provided sign-up sheet.
Ideal volunteers are organized, detail-oriented, and enjoy connecting with others, while also working well in a team. To ensure the safety of everyone in the program, Hamkae Power will provide PPE, training on how to canvass safely, and support volunteers in doorknocking in teams of two.
