Thrift Shop Volunteer

The Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society (NMCRS) San Diego is looking for energetic and committed volunteers to join our Thrift Shop Team! Our shop is open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (excluding holidays) from 9:30 am-1:30 pm and is located on Naval Base San Diego. Volunteers are responsible for performing a variety of tasks to support our active duty and retired military families.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collect, sort and price donated items
• Arrange items in the sales area
• Assist customers in finding requested items and sizes
• Check customers out using an electronic payment system
• Collaborate with team on sales and marketing projects

QUALIFICATIONS

• Commit to the team for a minimum of 6 months
• Complete NMCRS Orientation and Training
• Be able to work collaboratively with a variety of personalities, including clients and fellow volunteers
• Ability to lift 20 lbs
