    Nova Ukraine is an international nonprofit delivering strategic humanitarian initiatives in partnership with trusted teams across Ukraine.     What We’re Looking For

    Education & Experience

    ✔ Prior experience in political advocacy, government relations, public policy, or a related field is required.

    ✔ Preferably a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Government, or a related field

    ✔ Experience communicating with government officials and working with political offices is highly preferred

    Core Competencies

    ✔ Ability to develop plans for implementing advocacy goals and navigating the political landscape effectively

    ✔ Excellent written and verbal skills, with the ability to draft professional policy briefs and reports

    ✔ Proficient in Google Drive and familiar with policy research tools such as LegiStorm and GovTrack

    ✔Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

    What You’ll Do

    Legislative Research & Analysis

    ✔ Conduct thorough research on federal, state, and local political landscapes, tracking voting records and policy platforms relevant to our cause.

    ✔ Monitor emerging legislative proposals and public policy trends to stay ahead.

    ✔ Synthesize complex information into clear, actionable summaries that help guide our leadership’s decision-making.

    Writing & Content Creation

    ✔ Draft impactful policy recommendations, white papers, and advocacy briefs for internal and external use.

    ✔ Create compelling position papers and outreach materials that clearly communicate Nova Ukraine’s goals.

    ✔ Prepare essential briefing kits, talking points, and testimony for our team’s meetings with elected officials.

    Political Communication & Outreach

    ✔ Build and maintain relationships with political offices at both the federal and state levels.

    ✔ Support the coordination of high-priority meetings with legislators and their staff.

    ✔ Manage follow-up communications to ensure our advocacy messages remain top of mind for key stakeholders.

    Strategy & General Support

    ✔ Collaborate with our internal teams to ensure all advocacy efforts are perfectly aligned with our humanitarian mission.

    ✔ Shape legislative strategies and help design the roadmaps for our advocacy campaigns.

    ✔ Assist in organizing vital advocacy events, briefings, and coalition-building initiatives to amplify our collective voice.

    Volunteer conditions:

    ✔ Volunteer role (unpaid).

    ✔ Support provided to: Associate Director of Community Engagement

    ✔ Time Commitment: 5-15 hours per week
