    Description

CAN YOU OWN THE NARRATIVE? THEN THIS ROLE IS YOURS TO LEAD.

We’re not looking for someone to just manage communications, we’re looking for someone to own it.

If you believe that words matter, stories shape the world, and that meaningful messages can inspire action, then you’ve just found your next challenge by volunteering with us.

At Social Friday, communication isn’t a department. It’s the engine. And we need someone at the wheel who can steer it with purpose, creativity, and clarity.

This isn’t your typical 9-to-5 communications gig. It’s about building a voice for a movement that turns passive time into powerful moments. It’s about creating a language for change and crafting messages that don’t just sound good, but do good.

If you’re bold enough to lead with vision and grounded enough to get things done. we want you. to volunteer with us!

ABOUT THE ROLE: As our Leader of Communications, you’ll be in charge of everything that speaks for Social Friday online and offline. From Social Media and PR to messaging strategies and internal alignment, you’ll build and guide our voice across platforms, audiences, and borders. You’ll be the one making sure that everything we say reflects who we are and what we stand for: connection, awareness, and impact.

    WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

    • Taking full ownership of Social Friday’s communication strategy, setting the direction.
    • Overseeing and coordinating all communication channels, including Social Media, PR, newsletters, website copy, and internal announcements.
    • Leading content planning and production in alignment with our values and campaign goals.
    • Managing and mentoring team members and collaborators in the communication space.
    • Being the final word on all external messaging, nothing goes out without your eye and heart behind it.
    • Supporting partnerships and outreach efforts with strong communication frameworks and storytelling.
    • Monitoring results and continuously improving communication strategies for greater reach and deeper impact.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

    • A proven background in strategic communications, media, or brand storytelling.
    • Strong leadership skills and the ability to take initiative and drive projects from idea to execution.
    • An intuitive understanding of how to speak to different audiences with authenticity and purpose.
    • Excellent writing and editing skills in English (bonus if you know other languages too!).
    • Experience managing content and communication teams, agencies, or freelancers.
    • Passion for social impact, grassroots change, and meaningful innovation.
    • Creativity, resilience, and a flair for bold but thoughtful messaging.

WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS: Because in a world overwhelmed with noise, you’ll help us be heard for the right reasons. Because behind every connection, every volunteer, every shared moment - there’s a story. And you’ll be the one to tell it.

JOIN US. LEAD WITH PURPOSE - Let’s give Fridays meaning again. Let’s turn messages into movements. Let’s make doing good a habit, a lifestyle.
