    Social Saturday Volunteer

    About Social Saturdays

Social Saturdays are free monthly events featuring art activities, performances, films, gallery experiences, and community partners. Each month offers something different and welcomes visitors of all ages to explore the Art Center.

We’re looking for volunteers who want to help make Social Saturdays welcoming, creative, and easy to enjoy.

    What Social Saturdays Volunteers Do

Depending on the month and your interests, volunteers may:

    • Greet and orient visitors
    • Assist with hands-on art activities—no art experience required
    • Support performances, storytimes, films, or other programs
    • Help visitors navigate the building and event schedule
    • Encourage participation and answer basic questions
    • Assist with light setup or cleanup

Volunteers always work alongside staff and receive clear instructions and support.

    Time Commitment

    • Social Saturdays take place once a month, on the second Saturday
    • Volunteer for one event or multiple events, as your schedule allows
    • Typical shifts range from 2–4 hours
    • No weekly commitment required

This role is ideal for people who want flexible, occasional volunteer opportunities.

    Who We’re Looking For

    Social Saturdays volunteers are:

    • Friendly, dependable, and comfortable interacting with the public
    • Interested in supporting visitors of all ages
    • Able to work in lively, sometimes busy environments
    • At least 14 years old
    • No prior museum or teaching experience is required

This role is well-suited for students, educators, artists, retirees, parents, and anyone interested in supporting community-centered art experiences.

    Why Volunteer?

    • Support free monthly events for the community
    • Be part of creative and welcoming public programs
    • Gain experience in museum and event settings
    • Meet people who care about art, learning, and access
    • Help the Art Center be a place where everyone feels welcome

    How to Get Involved
