Description
We are looking for a Volunteer Voice Trainer to help the community members we support and empower by making remote voice training sessions meaningful, accessible, and affirming. The ideal candidate is passionate about community connection, comfortable guiding others through voice training, and excited to help create inclusive spaces for the LGBTQIA2S+ community.
Primary Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and support remote voice training sessions for community members.
- Provide one-on-one or group voice training support via Discord.
- Organize and communicate with participants to help ensure sessions are scheduled and run smoothly.
- Serve as a point of contact for participants before and during training sessions.
- Help create session schedules, training outlines, and basic coordination materials.
- Work with the Board of Directors to align voice training efforts with the organization’s mission and goals.
- Support communication around upcoming sessions, participant needs, and community engagement opportunities.
- Help ensure sessions are safe, accessible, and affirming for all participants.
Qualifications
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to coordinate multiple moving parts and follow through on details.
- Comfort working with community members in a supportive and affirming setting.
- Interest in voice training, vocal coaching, or community outreach.
- Commitment to The Lavender Project’s mission and values.
- Prior experience in voice training, vocal coaching, or related support.
Time Commitment
This volunteer position offers flexible hours, allowing you to attend meetings, help plan sessions, communicate with participants, and provide remote voice training at your convenience. Ideally, we would host voice training sessions once per week and answer questions via our Discord server when available.

The ideal Volunteer Voice Trainer is dependable, friendly, organized, and eager to build community. They enjoy helping people develop their voices and supporting sessions that make a real difference for the LGBTQIA2S+ community.
