Description
A volunteer fitness coordinator for the Glacier Area Special Olympics plans, promotes, and leads inclusive health and fitness programs to help athletes improve their physical well-being on and off the field.
Program Overview:
- Role Type: Unpaid Volunteer
- Commitment: Seasonal (typically 6 to 8 weeks) or year-round flexible hours
- Run fitness initiatives like Fit 5 or Unified Fitness Clubs at local or regional levels.
Location: Glacier Area Local community programs, training camps, or competition venues
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Delivery: Lead inclusive fitness sessions, walking clubs, or performance stations for athletes.
- Event Coordination: Help run Healthy Athletes screening events, fitness challenges, or station-based day competitions.
- Community Engagement: Motivate and educate athletes, families, and coaches on adopting healthy, active lifestyles.
- Volunteer Support: Recruit, train, and guide local station volunteers or peer fitness captains.
- Tracking & Reporting: Record participation numbers, track progress goals, and report data to program leadership
