Help Habitat as we build 10 new affordable townhomes at our Sequoia Grove development in Hayward!
Join us in the heart of Hayward to transform a formerly vacant, underutilized lot on A Street into a thriving, affordable, net-zero energy neighborhood for 10 families.
No Experience Necessary!
Our group of dedicated Habitat staff, amazing AmeriCorps Crew Leaders, and fellow Habitat volunteers will teach you all you need to know. Whether you have never picked up a hammer, are and experienced tradesperson, or fall somewhere in between, sign up to volunteer with us to learn new skills, have fun, and support affordable housing!
- Wear work clothes and sturdy, close-toed shoes.
- Bring a lunch and a refillable water bottle.
- All necessary tools, safety equipment, and training are provided on your volunteer day.
Volunteer opportunities are available Wednesdays - Saturdays, 8:30 am - 4:00 pm.
Health Acknowledgement: I understand that volunteering with Habitat EBSV is a social activity, and I will support the health of the volunteer community by staying home if I am knowingly infected with COVID-19 or another communicable illness, and by following any health and safety guidance posted or instructed by Habitat staff.
For safety reasons, all volunteers at our construction sites must be at least 16 years old. All volunteers under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian digitally sign or bring a signed Minor Waiver Form with them to the site (available here).

How to Volunteer for This Opportunity
If you are interested in volunteering at our Sequoia Grove development in Hayward, please visit VolunteerHub to sign up for a day that works best for you.
When you sign up on VolunteerHub you will be prompted to complete our Waiver Form and agree to our Volunteer Code of Conduct.
If you are 16 or 17 years old, a parent or guardian will need to digitally sign our Minor Waiver Form prior to your volunteer shift. If you are not able to digitally access the Minor Waiver Form, a printable copy is available here.
