Remote project (NYC-based candidates encouraged) — Flexible, aligned with grant deadlines (typically 3-6 weeks)
Stoop Stories connects New York City neighbors across generations and differences to reduce loneliness and increase compassion and joy. Through documentary stories and community events, we celebrate stoop culture and highlight underrepresented communities.
Who we're looking for: A skilled grant writer to help us draft 1-2 compelling, tailored grant proposals that clearly communicate our mission and impact. We're looking for someone who can produce clear, polished proposals with minimal iteration. We welcome individuals who are excited about storytelling and helping a small nonprofit grow their impact.
The ideal candidate has:
- Grant writing experience
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Ability to synthesize program information into clear, compelling narratives
- Comfort collaborating remotely to gather the information needed for a strong proposal
Project Scope & Deliverables:
- Deliver 1-2 completed grant applications (based on selected opportunities), tailored to specific funder requirements
- Refine our organizational messaging and impact language
- Collaborate with our team to gather necessary background and program information
- Create reusable proposal language/templates we can draw on for future grants
