What is a Polar Plunge?
A Polar Plunge is a unique fundraising opportunity for individuals, organizations and businesses to support Special Olympics NC by jumping or running into a cold body of water in the middle of winter.
The funds raised will provide year-round sports training, competition, leadership opportunities, and health services to nearly 45,000 Special Olympics North Carolina athletes.
"Are you a born networker? Would you like to work with businesses in the Raleigh area and across North Carolina to secure event sponsors for our Polar Plunge? Event sponsorships start at $7,000. We're looking to add new sponsors and bring back some sponsors from the past. In addition to our development department and current commitments, we are looking for a little extra help from people in the area who believe in the Special Olympics movement!
The ideal candidates will be passionate, personable and detail-oriented. Past experience with Special Olympics is helpful but not necessary. Past fundraising experience is a plus. Ideally, we will grow this committee to a team of 3-5 volunteers to share the work."
