Description
Help our gardens and grounds thrive by volunteering alongside our horticulture team!
- Answering guest questions about directions, exhibits, attractions, and amenities
- Assist with plant bed preparation
- Planting bulbs, seeds, or other plants throughout the Zoo
- Plant maintenance including weeding and watering
- Assist with maintenance of our greenhouse
Requirements
- Must be 16 years of age or older
- Completion of a volunteer application, information session, orientation, and training
- Completion of additional Horticulture training with our Buildings and Gardens team
- Commitment to a biweekly or weekly schedule consisting of 4+ hour shifts
- Approved through screening process, including a background check
- Ability to tolerate reasonable weather conditions
- Ability to walk or self-transport throughout the Zoo
- Can lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
