Role Summary
Are you a social media wizard with a heart for hounds? Perfectly Paired Pitties is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Social Media Team Lead to champion our online presence! This pivotal volunteer role involves overseeing and executing our social media strategy across various platforms, ensuring consistent branding, engaging content, and effective communication to promote our mission. You'll lead a team of 4-5 volunteer social media contributors, guiding them in content creation, scheduling, and engagement, all while helping our adoptable pitties shine online.
Key Responsibilities
- Social Media Strategy & Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with Perfectly Paired Pitties' goals (e.g., increasing adoptions, fundraising, volunteer recruitment, public awareness, positive breed advocacy). You'll create and manage a content calendar for all platforms, ensuring a consistent posting schedule and diverse content that highlights the unique personalities of our dogs.
- Team Leadership & Management: You'll be the go-to person for our 4-5 volunteer social media contributors. This includes recruiting, onboarding, and training new team members, delegating tasks, providing guidance and constructive feedback, and fostering a collaborative and positive team environment. You'll also facilitate regular virtual team meetings to discuss strategy and review content.
- Content Oversight & Creation: Oversee the creation of engaging and compelling content (text, images, videos) for various platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and potentially others. You'll ensure all content aligns with Perfectly Paired Pitties' brand guidelines, tone of voice, and messaging, promoting a positive image of pit bull type dogs. You'll also proofread and edit content submitted by your team and contribute directly to content creation for high-priority campaigns.
- Engagement & Community Management: Actively monitor all social media accounts, ensuring timely and appropriate responses to comments, messages, and inquiries. You'll help foster a vibrant online community, engaging with followers and promoting our mission.
- Branding & Consistency: Ensure all social media content consistently reflects the Perfectly Paired Pitties brand, messaging, and values. This includes maintaining a cohesive visual style and tone across all platforms.
- Performance Tracking: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as engagement rates, follower growth, reach, and website traffic. You'll analyze social media data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement, helping us continuously refine our approach.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other volunteer teams (e.g., adoption coordinators, fundraising, events) to ensure integrated messaging and support all organizational initiatives.
Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience in social media management, including content creation, scheduling, engagement, and analytics across multiple platforms (Facebook, Instagram, etc.).
- Demonstrated leadership or team management experience, preferably in a volunteer setting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to craft compelling narratives.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
- Proficiency with our communications platform, Slack
- A genuine passion for animal welfare and a deep commitment to the mission of Perfectly Paired Pitties and advocating for pit bull type dogs.
- Experience with graphic design tools (e.g., Canva) and basic video editing skills are a plus!
