Mobile App Developer (Volunteer or Intern) – Youth SRHR Safety & Awareness Companion
Details
Description
CCID is committed to advancing the rights of communities, women, girls, and young people in Cameroon, while strengthening community leaders and community-based organisations to respond to community needs. CCID envisions resilient communities where women and girls can exercise their rights and make informed decisions free from coercion, violence, and discrimination, and where young people have access to education and youth-friendly reproductive health services.
CCID is developing a youth-centred, privacy-first, offline-capable mobile application that serves as an interactive Safety & Awareness Companion for adolescents and young adults (15–30), students, young workers, and secondary users (teachers, HR teams, youth workers). The app will help users:
- identify abusive and controlling behaviours, violence, coercion and harassment
- recognise red flags and escalation patterns
- learn healthy relationships and consent
- access SRHR-accurate, age-appropriate, rights-based information aligned with Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) principles
- safely navigate help-seeking pathways without forced disclosure
The volunteer will work closely with CCID’s programme, safeguarding, and communications focal persons to build an MVP (minimum viable product) for Android-first deployment, adaptable to iOS later.
