    Role Overview

    FYAR is seeking a motivated HR Assistant Volunteer to support our people operations and help welcome new volunteers to our team. This hands-on role focuses on conducting volunteer interviews, supporting onboarding processes, and learning essential HR functions in a nonprofit setting.

    This role is perfect for someone interested in human resources, people management, or organizational development who wants to gain practical experience while making a meaningful impact.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Conduct interviews with prospective volunteers to assess fit and experience
    • Guide new volunteers through the onboarding process and answer questions
    • Maintain volunteer records and track onboarding completion
    • Assist with scheduling interviews and coordinating communications
    • Support HR initiatives such as volunteer recognition and retention efforts
    • Collaborate with team leads to understand role requirements and team needs

    Ideal Candidate

    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a welcoming demeanor
    • Comfortable conducting interviews on camera with a clear, professional speaking voice
    • Excellent at asking questions, active listening, and assessing candidate fit
    • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple onboarding processes
    • Interest in learning HR fundamentals and nonprofit people operations
    • Reliable, professional, and passionate about creating positive volunteer experiences
    • Prior experience in customer service, recruiting, or people-facing roles is a plus
