    Description

    Sewers for Hospice

We are looking for those who know how to help give healing to the bereaved and/or occupy the hands of those with dementia.

Hospice volunteer sewers assist with our Made with Memories Program by making Memory Bears with the clothing from a patient who died on hospice for a family member.

If not a bear, we also offer families a mini-quilt made from their loved one's clothing. (36x36")

Sewers have also made Fidget blankets to donate to our patient's with some form of Dementia.

Our sewers go through an interview, background check, and brief introduction to hospice.

Once onboarded, as orders come in for quilts or bears, our sewers assist with these.

It is a wonderful part of the healing process to hold something close that reminds you of the one you lost.

Volunteers have also been known to donate adult bibs, or knitted items to help with winter chill.
