    Description

    Community Outreach

    We are seeking compassionate and dedicated volunteers to join our community outreach program in rural Jinja, Uganda. This role offers a unique opportunity to work directly within the community, visiting families in their homes and supporting children in their daily environments. Alongside our local team, you will help strengthen the connection between families and the care they require, while fostering confidence, independence, and practical support at home.

    This hands-on opportunity allows you to build genuine relationships, gain insight into daily life in a rural Ugandan community, and contribute meaningfully.

    What You’ll Do:

    Participate in home visits (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday) with the outreach team.

    Support children and families in their home environments.

    Encourage and guide parents in caring for and supporting their children.

    Assist with drop-in sessions and outreach clinics on Friday.

    Build trust and positive relationships within the community.

    Who We’re Looking For:

    Kind, patient, and respectful individuals.

    Open-minded and willing to learn from the community.

    Comfortable working in a rural setting.

    Interested in community work, family support, or child development.

    No formal experience required—your positive attitude is what matters most.

    Experience is a blessing; physiotherapists, speech therapists, and occupational therapists are welcome.

    Cost

    We charge $360 per week to cover accommodation at the guest house, three meals a day during the week, two meals a day on the weekend, and program transport.

    Prepare for Your Trip

    1. Before arriving, please:
    • Arrange your travel and accommodation (guidance can be provided)
    • Pack appropriate clothing for a rural setting (comfortable and modest)
    • Bring any personal essentials and medications
    • Be ready for a hands-on, adaptable experience
