Vice President Board Member

The Friends of San Pedro Valley Park is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization (a 501(c)(3) public benefit corporation) founded in 1983 that is funded 100% by membership dues, donations and sales proceeds. The Board of Directors oversees and manages the funding, scheduling, and strategy for the events and support activities provided for the benefit of park visitors by the volunteers and members of the Friends of San Pedro Valley Park organization. Board member duties include:

• Serves as ‘back-up’ for all Presidential duties when the President is unavailable due to illness, injury, etc.
  • Able to run Board Meetings, if needed
  • Able to temporarily assume other regular Presidential duties
• Assists President w/preparing Board Meeting agendas
• Assists with preparing News and Event items for posting to FoSPVP website (by Website manager)
• Works with IT Specialist to monitor Friends’ gmail inbox (on continuing basis and assists with answering/forwarding/archiving messages received
• Determines total number of volunteer hours expended by FoSPVP personnel on a quarterly basis and submits total to SMCo Volunteer Coordinator
  • Includes Board members, VC Hosts, Trail Day & Habitat Restoration volunteers, special project workers, etc.
  • Works to insure that totals are complete and accurate
• Serves on FoSPVP Interpretive Planning Committee
  • Attends quarterly “check-in”meetings with SMCo Parks Dept’s IP Team
• Manages/Coordinates/Assists with special events, as needed (including announcements, postings, emails, etc., related to the events)
• Performs other tasks as requested by the President
