    Description

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assist Head Coach create, organize and conduct a comprehensive sports training program
    • Train athletes during scheduled practice times as well as accompany team to competitions
    • Create and maintain a positive and fun environment for all athletes

    This coaching role will be to support San Fernando Programs that are in need of coaches for the season.

    Due to the nature of this volunteer role, registered volunteers will require a higher clearance through Special Olympics Southern California. Once officially registered, an SOSC representative will provide further instructions on completing this clearance.

    How to Volunteer for This Opportunity

    Interested volunteers will need to create an account on our Volunteer Website and complete their profile. When that is done, please head to the Orange County Coach page and click on the red "Register" button. This will prompt you to complete a series of qualifications. When these are all complete, one of our Administrators will reach out to you to finish with a background check as well as send you information regarding our Mandated Reporter Training. If you already have completed this training with another organization or your employer, we will accept a completed course certificate to bypass this training.
