Graphic Design Volunteer

Overview of Position: As a Graphic Design Volunteer, you possess drive and creativity to help us enhance TIHAN’s presence through printed materials, web and social media. This volunteer assists with a variety of projects relating to TIHAN’s graphic design goals and initiatives. This position is a great opportunity for those involved in or planning a career in graphic design, marketing, advertising, or related fields. The Graphic Design Volunteer will work directly with TIHAN staff and committee members on the development of creative and functional print and web design.

Specific Tasks:

• • Participate in brainstorming sessions and provide creative solutions and graphics to meet the objectives.
  • Adapt designs for different platforms (web, mobile, print) and make revisions based on feedback to meet project goals and deadlines.
  • Create visually appealing and engaging print and digital marketing collateral including brochures, print ads, posters, flyers, web design, community education displays, original graphics, photo editing, etc.
  • Design impactful web graphics and web page layouts.
  • Collaborate with staff members to create cohesive, effective marketing material.
  • Ensure all graphics are designed in accordance with the TIHAN brand.

Time Required: 3-10 hours a month; flexible schedule based on your availability, ability to work remotely from your home or office. Around special event planning, some deadlines are compressed.

Qualifications/Experience:

1. Required: Must be proficient in typical programs/software including Adobe Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) used to accomplish graphic design needs. Must have a background in graphic design or a portfolio to showcase past projects. Must have own computer and required software, be detail oriented and able to keep projects organized and easily accessible.
2. Soft Skills Required: Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Good time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines. Excellent communication and project management skills.
