    Description

    Our vision is a Pacific Northwest where people value, protect, and enjoy healthy, sustainable ecosystems for the benefit of birds and other wildlife. We are looking for a passionate volunteer to be our next Treasurer and help us realize that vision.

    Position Description:

    The Treasurer is the custodian of the Society's funds and is responsible for keeping accounts, disbursing funds, and providing financial reports in accordance with the Board's direction and society policies. The Treasurer shall comply with all financial and tax regulations with respect to any employees of the Society and general contractors, and shall file the necessary state and federal tax reports. Persons authorized to sign checks on behalf of the Society shall be approved by the Board.

    Duties:

    • Keep accurate account of all financial transactions
    • Maintain bank accounts
    • Receive and disburse funds
    • Provide monthly financial reports to the Board of Directors, including bank accounts and investment account statement values
    • Provide annual summary of finances to the membership at the annual meeting
    • Submit the annual budget with input from the Executive Committee and Executive Director
    • Arrange for an annual PAS review
    • Submit annual records to CPA for 990 filings, review their draft filings, and approve submission to IRS
    • Prepare annual filings of Snohomish real estate tax charitable exemption

    Qualifications:

    • Strong background in finance and/or accounting
    • Knowledgeable in nonprofit finance
    • Excellent organizational and communication skills
    • Passion for the mission of Pilchuck Audubon and a dedicated interest in keeping common birds common and rare birds protected
    • Willing to undergo background and/or reference check

    Start Date:

    Immediate, with opportunity to train with current Treasurer to learn the role.
