Description
We are looking for a creative, proactive and enthusiastic Fundraiser Volunteer to help us develop and organise fundraising activities that raise vital funds and awareness for Kawasaki Disease UK.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys coming up with ideas, getting people involved and turning fundraising opportunities into real campaigns and activities.
What you’ll be doing
- Research and develop new fundraising ideas and activities for Kawasaki Disease UK.
- Help organise and promote fundraising events and activities.
- Identify opportunities to raise funds through local businesses, community groups, schools, sports clubs and other organisations.
- Help distribute our Kawasaki Disease UK collection boxes to suitable businesses and organisations.
- Keep records of where collection boxes have been placed and arrange for them to be returned/collected when required.
- Follow KDUK’s collection-box procedure, including ensuring boxes are appropriately authorised, numbered and sealed.
- Build relationships with businesses and community organisations that may be interested in supporting KDUK.
- Help promote fundraising activities across social media and other channels.
- Encourage supporters to take part in fundraising activities and campaigns.
- Help identify opportunities for events, sponsored activities, challenges and community fundraising.
- Work with the wider KDUK team to turn good fundraising ideas into practical campaigns.
- Explore ways to make use of our facilities and venue opportunities at our Croxley location to support fundraising and community activities.
Our facilities
Kawasaki Disease UK has access to facilities at our Croxley venue, which can provide opportunities for fundraising and community activities.
These include:
- The Barn – a venue space that can be used for activities and events.
- Sports Grounds – outdoor space offering opportunities for sporting or fundraising activities.
- The Unit – a dedicated space that could be used for activities such as meditation or yoga classes.
Part of the role will be to think creatively about how these spaces could be used to generate income, attract supporters and raise awareness of Kawasaki Disease.
Collection Box Fundraising
We have Kawasaki Disease UK collection boxes available for distribution to suitable businesses and organisations.
You will help identify potential locations, approach them about hosting a collection box and coordinate the distribution and return of boxes in line with our procedures.
All collection boxes should be properly recorded when issued and returned, and handled in accordance with KDUK's fundraising procedures and applicable fundraising requirements.
Who we're looking for
We're looking for someone who is:
- Creative and confident coming up with fundraising ideas.
- Proactive and willing to approach new organisations and opportunities.
- Friendly and confident communicating with businesses, community groups and potential supporters.
- Organised and able to keep track of fundraising activities and collection boxes.
- Comfortable working independently and taking initiative.
- Interested in charity fundraising and making a difference.
- Reliable and motivated to help grow KDUK's fundraising activity.
Previous fundraising experience is useful but not essential. We are more interested in your enthusiasm, initiative and willingness to get involved.
What you’ll gain
This is a great opportunity to gain practical experience in:
- Charity fundraising
- Campaign development
- Event planning
- Community outreach
- Partnership building
- Supporter engagement
- Social media promotion
- Project organisation
You will have the opportunity to take ownership of your own fundraising ideas and see them develop from concept into real activities.
Location & flexibility
The role is flexible and partly remote, with opportunities to work on fundraising activities both independently and alongside the KDUK team.
Some activities may take place at our Croxley facilities, depending on the fundraising project.
