    Description

    Programme Operations Officer: Volunteer Role

We are looking for a highly autonomous Programme Operations Officer to support the day-to-day running of our programme. This role is operational, decision-oriented, and requires acting independently in situations that are sometimes urgent and ambiguous.

This is not a fixed-hour role, an advisory position, or a training placement.

    What will you do

    • Send clear, concise messages to students and teachers
    • Enforce programme rules consistently
    • Resolve routine issues independently without escalation
    • Redirect appropriate requests to the correct channel
    • Act as a first point of contact for operational questions
    • When recruitment is open, conduct a few interviews for teachers

    What this role requires (non-negotiable)

    • Ability to work independently and make decisions without supervision
    • Reliable access to stable internet and real-time messaging
    • Availability to respond within a reasonable timeframe when urgent issues matter
    • Strong and precise written communication skills

This role is not suitable if you:

    • Prefer detailed instructions before acting
    • Are uncomfortable making decisions or enforcing boundaries
    • Expect close supervision or ongoing guidance
    • Are unable to respond within the same day to urgent matters

Shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete a practical task simulating real operational scenarios. This is used to access autonomous, judgement, and communication. Only candidates who complete this successfully will be onboarded.
