    Description

Support a grieving child! Become HopeWorks Facilitator!

HopeWorks is a 10 week peer support group for children ages 4 - 18. These classes are facilitated by trained volunteers. HopeWorks is offered twice a year, in the Spring and Fall.

Tuesday night HopeWorks sessions are for children who have experienced a loss or change through divorce, separation, incarceration, deployment, or foster care and adoption.

Thursday night HopeWorks sessions are for children who have experienced the loss of a loved one through death.

Volunteers are needed from 6:30-8:30PM. Volunteers can volunteer both nights or choose what night they would like to help with. All volunteers must attend volunteer training and submit to background checks.

Volunteer Training will be held from 10 AM - 1 PM on the following dates:

    January 31st

    March 21st

    May 23rd

    June 20th

    August 22nd

If you are unable to attend any of these trainings but would still like to volunteer, please contact us to schedule an alternate training time.

HopeWorks Tuesday night sessions will be held on the following dates:

    February 10th, 17th, and 24th

    March 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th, and 31st

    April 7th, 14th, and 21st

HopeWorks Thursday night sessions will be held on the following dates:

    February 3rd, 18th, and 26th

    April 2nd, 9th, 16th, and 23rd

Rays of Hope Children’s Grief Centre is a community outreach of Hospice of Midland. We serve children 4 years to 18 years who have experienced a loss due to death, divorce, separation, incarceration, deployment, foster care, or other painful transitions. Through facilitated peer support groups, children share experiences, use creative arts as tools of expression, and acquire coping skills to work through the tough issues that accompany grief. Because we are an outreach of Hospice of Midland, services are provided at no charge to participants.
