    Description

Broad Street Love Meal Service Volunteer

Every weekday, the Sanctuary Dining Room at Broad Street Love transforms into a restaurant-style dining space where guests are served with warmth, respect, and care. Since 2008, this meal has been at the heart of our mission—offering not just nourishment, but dignity and connection. With an average of 300 guests at each meal, this experience is made possible by the dedication of our volunteers.

    What you’ll do:

As a Meal Service Volunteer, you’ll help create a welcoming, restaurant-style experience for every guest. Depending on the day’s needs, you may:

    • Set up tables with linens, flowers, and place settings
    • Greet guests and serve meals with care and attention
    • Bus tables and refresh settings to keep the dining room running smoothly
    • Help with clean-up after service so the space is ready for the next day

Through your hospitality and presence, you’ll help ensure every guest feels seen, respected, and celebrated.

    What we’re looking for:

    • Volunteers who are 16 years or older
    • Ability to stand and move comfortably for several hours
    • A warm, friendly, and flexible approach to service
    • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with a team
    • Closed-toe, comfortable shoes and clothing you can move around in
    • If you can’t make your shift, please cancel in Volunteer Hub so another volunteer can step in

    Why it matters:

Every plate, every greeting, and every moment of care helps transform lunch into something much deeper—a shared experience of Radical Hospitality. When you volunteer, you help turn a meal into community.

If you have any questions about this role, please email our Volunteer Coordinator, Jessa Ruhf, at volunteer@broadstreetlove.org.
