    Description

    About IIAN

Invisible Illness Awareness Network is a 100% volunteer-driven 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to raising awareness of invisible illnesses, chronic conditions, and disabilities. Through education, advocacy, and community-building, we work to reduce stigma, support patients and families, and drive meaningful change in healthcare and education. We have affiliates across the country and a growing digital presence.

    About the Role

As a Pamphlet Creator, you'll design clear, informative, and visually engaging pamphlets about specific medical conditions, both invisible illnesses and related chronic conditions. Drawing from IIAN's existing presentations and your own research, you'll turn complex medical information into accessible materials that can be distributed digitally and in print to patients, families, healthcare students, and the general public.

    What You'll Do

    • Research medical conditions using credible sources and IIAN's existing educational presentations
    • Design pamphlets in Canva, formatted for both digital (PDF) and print distribution
    • Present information in clear, accessible language appropriate for a general audience
    • Ensure content is accurate, compassionate, and aligned with IIAN's mission and voice
    • Submit completed pamphlets for review before publication
    • Contribute as many pamphlets as your schedule allows, output is fully flexible

    Who We're Looking For

    • Comfort with Canva
    • Strong research skills and the ability to synthesize medical information into plain language
    • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
    • Ability to work independently in a fully remote, async environment
    • Passion for health education, patient advocacy, or disability awareness
    • Background or interest in healthcare, public health, communications, or graphic design is a plus, but not required
    • Students, early-career professionals, and experienced volunteers are all welcome
