    Description

    The purpose of this position is to manage and record financial transactions, managing accounts payable and receivable, and reconciling bank statements of the organization and help the financial stability of the organization.

    Instructions:

    Essential functions / Job duties and responsibilities

    • Recording and maintaining financial transactions: This includes data entry for sales, purchases, expenses, and payments, and updating general ledgers.
    • Managing accounts payable and receivable: This involves processing invoices, ensuring timely payments to vendors, and generating invoices for customers.
    • Reconciling accounts: Comparing financial records with bank statements and other financial documents to identify and rectify discrepancies.
    • Preparing financial reports: Generating key reports like income statements and balance sheets to give insight into the company's financial health.
    • Cash flow management: Monitoring incoming and outgoing cash to ensure the business has enough funds to operate and to support investment decisions.
    • Tax-related tasks: This can include preparing and lodging business activity statements and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
    • Ensure that all policies and procedures are aligned with all current requirements
    • Complete all other assignments as required by the Executive Director and/or Board.

    The full scope of responsibilities will be determined based on the experience of the applicant, but will likely include working with Executive Director on some of these additional tasks:

    • Using accounting software, like

    QuickBooks, to manage financial data.

    • Verifying receipts and preparing bank deposits.
    • Monitoring transactions for irregularities.
    • Following up on overdue accounts.
    • Assisting accountants with year-end reports and other projects.

    Handling commercially sensitive information with care.
