Description
This is an innovative, community-driven initiative aimed at transforming Kibera slum area into an environmentally sustainable and climate-resilient ecology. The project is premised on extensive tree planting, sustainable urban farming, and eco-friendly practices to improve the quality of life, mitigate climate change impacts, and create healthier living environments for residents in congested Kibera slum. The project seeks to empower youths to revolutionize urban greening, environmental conservation and samrt farming and transforming Kibera into a hub for community engagement, sustainable entrepreneurship, and climate-resilient practices.
This program aims at;
Planting 600,000 tree to improve air quality, reduce soil erosion and increase green cover.
- Use organic compost to grow seedlings and enhance soil health.
- Reduce urban flooding through riverbank restoration.
- Improved community partication in climate action.
- Creating safe and green urban spaces.
- Training and sharing knowledge.
The project supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs);

uGood health and well-being (SDG #3) by improving access to nutritious food
