    Description

    Foster Grandparent Program of the Treasure Valley

    Foster Grandparent volunteers create meaningful relationships with children by providing mentoring and tutoring in schools, Head Starts, and pre-school settings. Foster Grandparents are able to serve very near their homes. We will help you find a site that best fits your interests and needs.

    ALL INTERESTED MUST: Be of limited annual income, be 55 years of age or older, be available for a minimum of 15 hours a week, be interested in working with children, reflect a positive and flexible attitude

    Grandparents also receive a number of helpful benefits:

    • Hourly stipend ($4.00 per hour volunteering). This stipend is a non-taxable, reimbursement that does not affect eligibility for other income-based services or programs
    • Stipend reimbursement for sick days, holidays, and vacation
    • Mileage assistance for costs incurred to and from volunteer station
