    Position Available: Director of Information Technology and Communications

    Location:

    San Diego, CA and surrounding area, Remote

POH.World is searching for a Director of IT and Communications to join our team, combining technical prowess with effective storytelling to enhance the world for the better.

    Focus Projects: Merit Based Social Media Application, Wind Powered Vehicle, Programs for those in Need of Housing, Healthcare and Education. Assistance to those challenged by mental health or trauma (Bridge to Revitalization).

    What You'll Be Doing:

    • Digital Storyteller: Craft and share compelling narratives across digital platforms, weaving our mission into engaging content.
    • Social Media Maestro: Develop and execute a social media strategy, leveraging platforms to increase visibility, engagement, and community support.
    • Tech Innovator: Stay ahead of technological trends and implement cutting-edge communication tools to enhance our outreach efforts.
    • Community Builder: Foster an online community, cultivating meaningful connections and turning supporters into advocates.
    • Data-Driven Communicator: Utilize analytics to measure the effectiveness of communication strategies, making data-driven decisions for continuous improvement.
    • IT Integrator: Collaborate with the IT team to ensure seamless integration of communication tools and platforms.
    • Utilize skills as part of a team focused on implementing a social media platform based on meritocracy.
    • Collaborative Focus and Effort on Fundraising: Utilize channels and interact with teams using methods to raise fundraising for organizational projects.

    What You Bring:

    • Digital Fluency: Proven experience in crafting and implementing digital communication strategies, with a focus on social media.
    • Social Media Expertise: A deep understanding of various social media platforms, trends, and the ability to harness their power for impact.
    • Tech Enthusiast: Comfortable with various communication technologies and tools, always seeking innovative ways to enhance outreach.
    • Community Engagement: A knack for building and nurturing online communities, fostering engagement and advocacy.
    • Analytical Insight: Strong analytical skills to measure the impact of communication efforts and optimize strategies accordingly.
    • Collaborative Spirit: Ability to collaborate effectively with IT teams and other departments to align communication efforts with organizational goals.

    Expectations:

    The individual in this role can provide flexible support as their schedule allows, however at a minimum the Director’s of the organization will meet for one hour every two weeks to discuss the direction of projects. It would be beneficial for the organization, if the individual in this role, could provide a few hours of critical thinking and support to applicable projects which are impacted by this department.

    Governance & Decision-Making:

    POH.World is governed by the HALO (Hopeful Advocates Lifting Others), a peer-based governing council composed of eight Directors. Each Director holds equal fiduciary responsibility and shared governance authority. There is no vertical chain of command; decisions are made collaboratively in alignment with organizational bylaws and mission.
