Services Technician Assistant with the Radio Reading Program of the Goodwill

1. Assist Seeing Eye Radio Staff to produce radio reading service content and broadcasts.
2. Provide technical assistance for staff and volunteers engaged in the program activity.

Basic volunteer qualifications involved with this assignment? Knowledge of Microsoft Windows OS. Understanding of Word, and Excel programs. Ability to copy and paste from web pages to Word Documents.

Who will be served by this assignment? People in the NE Ohio area who are sight impaired, reading impairment, and those who are unable to physically hold reading materials.

What is the anticipated benefit of this volunteer service to those receiving the service? Seeing Eye Radio will be able to continue to provide original programing to the people in need in this area.

What specific skills will the volunteer need? Sit, stand, moderate amounts of walking, use of hands to fingers, handle or feel objects, and reach with hands or arms. Volunteers will spend a significant portion of his/her time on the phone and computer. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
