    Description

Classroom Volunteers - Most Popular and Most Needed Volunteer Opportunity

For the traditional method, volunteers enter the classroom for 30-45 minutes, one day a week

for 5-7 weeks, depending on the grade. The curriculum has been designed by top educators

with state standards in mind. Training is provided for new volunteers where they will learn

more about JA, what to expect in the classroom and tips and tricks about the curriculum.

Subject Matter Expert - Capstone or Semester Program

As a JA subject matter expert, you may be asked to volunteer your time and talent as someone with specialized knowledge in a specific area related to Financial Literacy, Career-Readiness or Entrepreneurship. This JA volunteer may only visit the classroom for a limited amount of time over the course of an entire semester or attend one of our capstone programs such as JA Inspire to Hire, JA Stock Market Challenge or JA I-Gen Program. In this capacity, educators will often provide the teacher-led version of a traditional JA classroom program but call upon the professional expertise or real-lived experience of a JA volunteer to provide support to the course content.
