    The Fort Bend Gathering Place Program: Richmond, Texas

    Who attends the Gathering Place?

    The Gathering Place provides companionship and fun for individuals with memory loss, specifically mild to moderate Alzheimer's, other dementias, or cognitive impairments.

    Caregivers can stay and participate, or take a break from their caregiving responsibilities, while their loved one is engaged in the 3.5 hour program.

    El Lugar de Encuentro ofrece compañía y diversión a personas con pérdida de memoria, específicamente Alzheimer en etapa leve a moderada, otras demencias o deterioros cognitivos.

    Different Volunteer Opportunities:

    Plan and facilitate engaging activities for individuals with dementia, such as arts, crafts, music, games, and light exercises. Provide socialization and companionship for participants, ensuring a positive and supportive environment. Help with serving lunch or refreshments during the program. Aid with setup and cleanup of the venue before and after the session. Contribute to monthly planning meetings.

    No experience necessary. Volunteer training is provided by CarePartners.
