    Position Overview

    The Volunteer Coordinator plays a vital leadership role at Love Changing the World. This individual will oversee volunteer engagement, scheduling, placement, and communication across all programs and initiatives.

    This role ensures that every volunteer is properly supported, scheduled, and aligned with the program area that best fits their skills and passion — all while upholding our mission to serve with dignity and LOVE.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Volunteer Management & Scheduling
    • Maintain and manage the master volunteer schedule
    • Assign volunteers to appropriate programs and events
    • Track volunteer hours and participation
    • Ensure proper coverage for distributions, drives, and special events
    • Program Placement
    • Match volunteers with programs based on skills and interests

    Coordinate support for areas such as:

    • Clothing Drives
    • Toy Drives
    • Food Distribution
    • #IAmWorthIt Program
    • Health & Wellness Programs
    • Fundraising & Events
    • Administrative Support
    • Communication & Engagement
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for volunteers
    • Send reminders, updates, and event details
    • Conduct basic onboarding and orientation
    • Foster a welcoming and inclusive volunteer environment
    • Leadership & Support
    • Address scheduling conflicts and last-minute changes
    • Help resolve concerns with professionalism and compassion
    • Ensure volunteers understand expectations and responsibilities
    • Support retention by creating a positive, mission-driven experience

    Qualifications

    • Strong organizational and time-management skills
    • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
    • Leadership ability and confidence managing groups
    • Experience in coordination, administration, or team leadership preferred
    • Passion for serving vulnerable communities
