Description
Volunteers will provide administrative support to the Bereavement & Volunteer Programs for Hoag Hospice. Some key tasks:
- Volunteer Coordination Support:
- Help maintain volunteer personnel files and track required monthly service hours.
- Assist in assembling training materials for new volunteer orientations.
- Coordinate schedules for volunteer support gatherings and recognition events.
- Bereavement Program Assistance:
- Prepare and mail "packets of care" and bereavement correspondence to families for up to 13 months following their loss.
- Help organize and promote bereavement support groups and annual remembrance events, such as memorial services.
- Assist with initial intake documentation and maintaining accurate electronic records for grieving families.
- Office & Community Connection:
- Phone support, directing families to the appropriate grief resources.
- Manage data entry & update records
- Welcome counseling clients

Commitment & Training
- Time: Ideally 4 hours per week during standard business hours.
- Training: We provide a comprehensive hospice orientation and role-specific training to ensure you feel confident and supported.
