    Description

Hospice can sound intimidating at first. But imagine being the patient who simply wants someone to sit nearby, hold their hand, share a conversation, or provide a gentle distraction from a long day.

Sometimes the greatest gift you can offer someone in their final days is your time and presence.

You don’t need special skills or medical experience. There’s no pressure and no reason to panic. Our Volunteer Coordinator is there to support you every step of the way, helping match you with the right patient and providing the tools you need to feel comfortable and confident.

The Volunteer Coordinator will introduce you to the patient, their family, or the care facility. From there, your role is simple—just show up and spend a little time together.

Many volunteers say these visits become one of the most meaningful parts of their week.

Training and support are provided. Most of your volunteer time will be spent in the community where patients live, whether that is in their home, an assisted living community, or a nursing facility.
