    About Us

The United Black Family Scholarship Foundation (UBFSF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to rebuilding communities from within through education, leadership development, storytelling, and economic empowerment. Our work bridges universities, student volunteers, incarcerated writers, and community partners in the United States and France.

Our digital platforms are central to our mission:

UBFSF serves as our main hub, highlighting programs such as:

    • R.E.B.U.I.L.D. Community Reinvestment
    • Nonprofit Coaching & Leadership Training for America’s Incarcerated
    • Student and community volunteer initiatives
    • Hundred Stories Project, including:
      • Behind Bars Journalism Project
      • Voices On Death Row Podcast

These global storytelling initiatives amplify the voices of incarcerated people and preserve their work through digital archives and media platforms.

Zo Media Productions (ZoMediaProductions.com) is a media cooperative that trains and employs incarcerated and formerly incarcerated writers in publishing, journalism, and media production.
