    Approximately 4 hours per week of remote work for three months, with flexible scheduling. For the right person, there will be opportunities for added responsibilities and growth in the organization as we expand our work and access funding.

    Description

You are passionate about using story-telling and the power of media to change lives and make a positive impact in society. You are excited by the opportunity to apply your expertise in ways that empower girls and young women abroad to write their own future. Our ideal candidate demonstrates:

    • Experience in marketing, communications, digital media, or a related field
    • Strong writing and editing skills for web and social media audiences
    • Understanding of brand alignment, messaging, and audience engagement
    • Comfort working independently while collaborating with a small, remote team
    • Experience with nonprofit or mission-driven organizations
    • Familiarity with social media strategy, content calendars, or basic analytics
    • Experience supporting fundraising, donor communications, or organizational growth

    The Assistant Director of Marketing & Communications will help shape and strengthen Girl Reports’ online presence to clearly convey our mission, goals, and impact. This role focuses on strategic storytelling across social media and our website, ensuring that all public-facing communications align with our values and support organizational growth and fundraising efforts. Responsibilities include:

    • Reviewing and refining website and social media for clarity, consistency, and mission-alignment
    • Creating or guiding the creation of social media posts, short-form content, and campaign messaging
    • Highlighting program impact, stories, and milestones through compelling narratives

    We value your expertise and creativity. In this role, you will play a key part in expanding our reach, strengthening our credibility, and supporting access to funding through clear and compelling communication. As a member of our team, you will:

    • Collaborate closely with organizational leadership and international program staff
    • Help shape the public voice and brand of a growing nonprofit
    • Apply your skills to a meaningful mission which amplifies girls’ voices and stories on a global platform
    • Gain professional service experience with deep social impact
