Volunteer Opportunity: Companion Visitor & Dog-Friendly Friend
Location: West Linn, OR 97068
Setting: Memory Care Community
Are you looking for a meaningful volunteer opportunity that can make a real difference in someone's day? We are seeking a compassionate male volunteer to provide companionship and social engagement for an older adult living in a memory care community.
Volunteer Activities May Include:
- Spending time together through friendly visits
- Talking about woodworking, building projects, and active hobbies
- Sharing stories and life experiences
- Going for walks within the community, as appropriate
- Bringing a friendly, well-behaved dog for visits, if approved and available
Volunteer Qualifications:
- Male volunteer preferred
- Patient, kind, and dependable
- Comfortable interacting with older adults experiencing memory loss and communication challenges
- Willing to allow extra time for processing and responses during conversations
About the Participant: This participant enjoys staying active, loves dogs, and worked as a carpenter. While conversation may take extra patience due to communication challenges, he benefits greatly from one-on-one companionship and meaningful social interaction.
Commitment: Flexible scheduling based on volunteer availability.
