    Description

    We're looking for a creative Canva graphic designer to join our communications team in developing high-quality visual content. Working with existing Canva templates, the designer will focus on layout refinement, data visualization, and creating compelling graphics that bring gibbon conservation to life. This is an opportunity to contribute to gibbon rescue, rehabilitation and rewilding efforts through visual storytelling!

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Team Collaboration: Participate in bi/weekly team meetings to align on design priorities and project timelines.
    2. Layout & Design: Refine layouts, organize visual hierarchies, and improve existing templates for social media, job postings, and advocacy materials.
    3. Data Visualization: Transform research data, statistics, and key numbers into accessible and engaging charts, infographics, and visual representations.
    4. Design Projects: Work on ongoing design projects including press statements, grant application materials, and conservation campaign graphics.
    5. Design Review: Incorporate team feedback and revise designs to meet quality standards and brand guidelines.
    6. Project Management: Handle multiple design requests simultaneously and meet established deadlines.
    7. Design Finalization: Prepare designs for approval, ensuring consistency with organizational branding standards.
    8. Ad Hoc Tasks: Support additional design needs including event posters, promotional materials, and other organizational requests.
    9. Weekly Coordination: Attend weekly check-ins to review progress, address changes, and plan upcoming tasks.

    ELIGIBILITY

    1. Experience with data visualization and infographic design.
    2. Background in nonprofit or conservation communications.
    3. Portfolio demonstrating diverse layout and design work.
    4. Proficiency in Canva with demonstrated experience in layout design and visual content creation.
    5. Strong ability to visualize and represent data, statistics, and complex information graphically.
    6. Meticulous attention to detail with a strong eye for design aesthetics and composition.
    7. Proven capacity to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
    8. Excellent collaboration skills and openness to constructive feedback.
    9. Strong communication abilities to articulate design concepts and decisions.
    10. Demonstrated commitment to wildlife welfare and conservation.
