    Description

    Bereavement Support Caller

Bring Comfort, Connection, and Compassion to Families in Need.

AccentCare Hospice of the Treasure Coast is looking for kind‑hearted volunteers who feel called to support others through one of life’s most tender moments: grief.

As a Bereavement Support Caller, you will offer gentle outreach to families whose loved one has passed away within the past year. Your voice, presence, and compassion can make an incredible difference during a time when people often feel most alone.

    💛 What You’ll Do

Your role is simple, meaningful, and deeply human:

    • Make supportive phone calls to bereaved families
    • Offer comfort, listening, and encouragement as they navigate their grief
    • Share information about support groups, grief resources, and healing activities
    • Provide reassurance that they are remembered, cared for, and not walking this path alone

    🌼 Why This Role Matters

A few kind words can bring light into someone’s darkest days. Bereavement volunteers help families feel supported, understood, and connected long after the hospice journey has ended.

If you have a gentle heart, a calm presence, and a genuine desire to uplift others, this is a beautiful way to make a real difference.

    🌿Why Volunteer for Hospice?

Gain experience for current and future life goals!

    For students and early-career professionals:

    • Gain hands-on experience in healthcare, social work, counseling, chaplaincy, psychology, and nonprofit service
    • Build empathy, communication, and professional confidence
    • Volunteer hours may count toward school or service-learning requirements
    • Strengthen resumes, applications, and interviews with meaningful experience

For stay-at-home-moms, retirees, and career changers:

    • Give back in a deeply personal and rewarding way
    • Build relationships and stay active in your community
    • Share your life experience where it truly matters
    • Fill resume gaps with volunteer experience

    Who can volunteer?

    • Compassionate individuals ages 18+
    • No healthcare/bereavement background required—just a caring heart and willingness to listen

Even if you only have a little time to give, we would be honored to welcome you to our volunteer community. We’ll work with you to find a role that aligns with your talents, interests, and comfort level.
