Description
Help a person who is legally blind to get to the grocery store and you will be their TOP BANANA! Winter is coming and these folks are taking the bus to get their groceries, a few flimsy plastic bags is all they can carry but your assistance will enable them to get a whole week's worth of groceries and keep fresh and healthy foods readily available. But there's more than just grocery shopping, go out for coffee or have a chat on the front porch, take a walk at the park; it's all good!
Requirements to be a great volunteer include:
- a desire to help others;
- a pleasant demeanor;
- a good reading/speaking voice;
- average reading skills;
- organizational or planning abilities;
- a good driving record;
- a clear criminal history;
- two references
- access to a car with proof of insurance;
- a minimum of $50/100k liability and $5,000 of property damage coverage.
