    About Us

    Our Safe Space is a volunteer-run nonprofit offering free workshops, book clubs, and community programs that support personal growth, creativity, and connection. We serve women and LGBTQ+ community members primarily through online gatherings, creating supportive spaces where people feel seen, heard, and empowered. 💛

    Role Overview

    We are seeking a knowledgeable and patient volunteer experienced with QuickBooks for nonprofits to help us:

    • Set up our chart of accounts and categories correctly for grant reporting and board-level transparency
    • Integrate donations and income sources (PayPal, Stripe, website, Facebook ads, raffle sales, etc.)
    • Create simple monthly financial reports
    • Train our founder in the easiest, most streamlined way to manage transactions going forward

    This is both a hands-on setup role and a teacher/guide role — we’re looking for someone who can make QuickBooks feel friendly (and maybe even fun)!

    Who You Are

    • Experienced in QuickBooks Online (nonprofit or small nonprofit experience strongly preferred)
    • Organized and detail-focused
    • Comfortable explaining financial processes in simple, step-by-step terms
    • A positive and patient communicator
    • Passionate about supporting grassroots community work

    What You’ll Do

    • Review our current bookkeeping structure
    • Set up QuickBooks Online to match our needs
    • Create templates for easy reporting and reconciliation
    • Provide a brief training session (or two) to walk through best practices

    Time Commitment

    • Approximately 4–8 total hours over 2–3 weeks
    • Flexible scheduling
