    Onboarding is a two step process requiring potential Volunteers make two trips to the Minneapolis VA Medical Center - initial trip for interviewing, paperwork and physical; second trip for VAVS orientation, badge and driver specific trainings.

    Description

    VTN (Volunteer Transportation Network) Volunteer drivers provide transportation for Veterans located within the Winona County area to and from the Minneapolis VA Medical Center, Tomah VA Medical Center, La Crosse CBOC, Rochester CBOC and Community Care for their appointments. Drivers use a DAV supplied van to transport our Veterans and will start and end their day within Winona County. Shifts are Monday through Friday.

    Volunteer drivers must:

    Pass a basic physical exam with Minneapolis VA Occupation Health

    Provide, and maintain, a copy of their safe driving record

    Provide proof of personal automobile insurance

    Consent to fingerprinting and successfully pass background check

    Complete initial and annual training for VA medical center and DAV volunteer drivers
