    Job description

Social Media Strategist (Volunteer – Facebook) – The Alexander Review

The Alexander Review (TAR) is seeking a Social Media Strategist (Volunteer) to develop and grow our Facebook presence.

Our Facebook platform requires structured development, consistent content, and strategic audience building. We are looking for someone to take ownership of the page and shape how TAR engages its audience on Facebook.

TAR is currently pre-revenue, so this is an unpaid volunteer role. However, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to become a permanent member of the team as we grow. This is a genuine opportunity to contribute meaningfully to an emerging publication at an early stage.

This is not an internship. This is a responsibility-driven volunteer role with strategic input.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement a Facebook growth strategy
    • Establish content structure and posting cadence
    • Adapt articles into Facebook-optimised posts
    • Create engaging captions and discussion-driven content
    • Share multimedia content (graphics, clips, links)
    • Build and engage a targeted audience
    • Monitor insights and refine strategy based on performance
    • Support the overall digital positioning of TAR

    Who We’re Looking For

    • Strong understanding of Facebook’s platform dynamics
    • Ability to write engaging, discussion-driven copy
    • Strategic thinker with good judgement
    • Interested in media, culture, and/or politics
    • Self-motivated, organised, and consistent
    • Interested in long-term involvement in a growing publication

    What You’ll Gain

    • Ownership of a core social platform
    • Public credit as part of the TAR team
    • Experience in digital publishing and audience growth
    • Portfolio development in social strategy
    • Opportunity for a permanent role as TAR scales

If you are serious about contributing to a growing publication and want real responsibility in shaping its digital presence, we would like to hear from you.
