    Job Description Opportunity

    Young Mothers, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Social Media Intern to support the organization’s digital marketing efforts. This is an unpaid internship; however, the interns selected have the opportunity for high-level full-time employment based on performance. This position is designed for individuals seeking to gain hands-on experience in social media management while contributing to a mission-driven organization focused on empowering young mothers. The selected candidate will play a key role in strengthening YMI’s online presence and engagement across various platforms.

    Responsibilities

    • Coordinate online marketing and advertising campaigns, and assist with website updates.
    • Promote upcoming events and strengthen the online community built around YMI programs.
    • Monitor and manage multiple social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, YouTube, Pinterest).
    • Establish milestones and goals, and track progress.
    • Generate reports on project status and performance.
    • Collaborate with internal committees to brand and promote events.
    • Support YMI's overall branding efforts and help shape its digital presence and direction.

    Qualifications & Requirements

    • Provide links to 1-3 active social media profiles that demonstrate your interest and experience.
    • Strong writing, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Proficiency with platforms such as Facebook, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, YouTube, Pinterest.
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Teams and other virtual collaboration tools.
    • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
    • Creative, self-motivated, and full of fresh ideas.
    • Tech-savvy and comfortable working in a fully remote/virtual environment.

    Intern Program Details

    • Duration: 3-6 months.
    • Time Commitment: 10-20 hours per week.
    • Flexible schedule: You’re not required to work 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM unless attending a scheduled meeting.
    • Interns are expected to track time and activities.
    • Open to graduate students or those currently pursuing a BA (preferably in marketing, communications, or a related field).
    • Strong analytical, organizational, and multitasking skills required.
    • Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
    • Ongoing support and feedback will be provided to help interns grow professionally during the program.
