    Description

Appointment Companions needed for our Resident to go with them to their Dr. appointments. You will be a friendly face and companion to the Resident during the time of the Dr. visit. Build a friendship with a Resident that has no family members available to be with them during this time.

The appointments will be in the mornings or early afternoons Mondays to Fridays. You will be informed and have a choice to accept or decline. Appointments will be between 1-3 hours depending on the appointment.

You will come to the Rose Blumkin Jewish Home and meet up with our driver and the Resident and ride along to their appointment. Our driver will pick you and the Resident back up after the appointment and you will return to the home. You will not have to move the Resident in or out of the wheelchair. You will only need to be pushing the wheelchair in and out of the Dr.'s office as needed. We will provide you with a quick wheelchair training, and all other necessary information during the orientation. The Volunteer Coordinator will notify you of the dates and times of the appointments, and the time you need to be here at the home. This is a perfect volunteer opportunity for a retired person, or anyone that has availability during the day.
