Skills-Based Volunteer Roles at Brilliant

Brilliant invites skilled professionals to share their unique talents in support of our vision to create thriving Detroit neighborhoods. There are many meaningful ways to get involved across our community!

We welcome skilled volunteers from a variety of backgrounds. Opportunities may include:

• Supporting the upkeep, accessibility, and safety of our hubs through skills in construction, painting, plumbing, electrical work, HVAC installation, and general repairs
• Educators and Health Professionals are also encouraged to lead literacy programs or health nights that help inspire a love of learning
• Teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) as a bilingual educator, helping youth and families build confidence in their writing, speaking, and communication skills in languages such as Spanish, Arabic, Bengali, and more
• Translating commonly used documents, registration forms, and educational materials to improve accessibility and communication for multilingual families
• Capturing and sharing stories as a photographer or videographer
• Contributing professional services at special community events, such as providing haircuts, leading art workshops, or organizing games
